A Simple Bengali Style Begun Bhaja.
Spicy And Crispy Begun Bhaja Made In Mustard Oil. There are lot of recipes for this dish. I used mustard masala for marination.
Ingredients:
- 2 Medium size brinjal
- 1 Tbsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp cumin seeds
- 3-4 Black pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp coriander seeds
- 2-3 Garlic cloves
- 1/2 Tbsp red chili powder
- 1/2 Tbsp turmeric powder
- 2 Tbsp rice flour
- Salt
- Mustard oil
Recipe:
Step 1- Cut the brinjal in round slices, rinse with water and let it dry on kitchen towel
Step 2- Grind mustard seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper, coariander seeds, garlic cloves to make a smooth paste
Step 3- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste
Step 4- Marinate brinjal slices with the spices paste and add rice flour
Step 5- Heat oil in a pan on high flame
Step 6- Now fry the brinjal slices till crisp and golden brown
Step 7- Turn off the flame and remove on a kitchen towel
Serve with hot fulkas or as a side dish with dal-chawal 🙂
