Tawa Paneer Masala

A restaurant style paneer dish which goes well with chapatis. One of the quick side dish recipe to accompany your meal.

As the name says it is made on tawa, but you can also use kadhai for your convenience.
Easy recipe with simple ingredients.
Serves 2
Ingredients:

  • 250gm Paneer (cubes)
  • 1 Large onion chopped
  • 2 Medium tomatoes chopped (or puree)
  • 1 Capsisum chopped
  • 1 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 Green chilies chopped
  • 1 Tsp red chili powder
  • 1 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 Tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 Tsp ajwain
  • 1/2 Tsp amchur powder + 1/2 Tsp garam masala
  • Salt
  • Oil/ butter
  • 1/2 Tsp kasuri methi leaves
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • Coriander leaves

Recipe:
Step 1- Heat oil/ butter in pan and add ajwain, fry for few seconds
Step 2- Add chopped onion and fry till translucent then add ginger garlic paste and chopped chilies
Step 3- Fry till the onion turns golden brown then add the red chili powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder, amchur and garam masala
Step 4- Stir well and then add chopped tomatoes (tomato puree) and fry till it starts leaving oil
Step 5- Add the paneer cubes and salt and mix well. Mix properly so the masala coats paneer cubes well
Step 6- Add kasuri methi and turn off the flame
Garnish with lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves

Serve with chapatis or as a side dish with rice and curry.
