Tikki, Chhole Tikki Chaat Or Aloo tikki is a famous North India street food we all love. Tikki is a popular street side snacks that can be made in variety of ways. You prepare it in any way, they are sure to turn out yummy.
Just the smell of Tikki can make you hungry. Am sure you all love Aloo Tikki. This is a slightly different Tikki from Aloo Tikki.
Here instead of potato I have used boiled chickpeas to make tikki. Soak the chickpeas overnight or atleast 7-8hrs.
- 1 Cup soaked and boiled chickpeas/ Kabuli chana
- 1 Small boiled potato
- 1/4 Tsp garam masala
- 1/2 Tsp amchur
- 1/2 Tsp ginger paste
- Pinch of black pepper powder
- oil/ butter
- 1 Small onion chopped
- 2 Green chili chopped
- 1/4 Cup sweet curd
- 2 Tbsp Sev namkeen
- Chaat masala
- 2 Tbsp tamarind chutney
- chopped coriander leaves
Step 1- Mash the boiled potato and chickpeas in bowl and add garam masala, amchur, ginger paste, black pepper powder and salt and mix well using your hand
Step 2- Divide the mixture in equal portions and make them in the shape of tikki
Step 3- Heat oil/ butter in a flat pan and place the tikkis and pan fry them. When one side become golden and crisp flip the tikki and let it cook from the other side
Step 4- Remove the tikkis in a plate, add chopped onion, green chili, tamarind chutney, sweet curd and sev namkeen and chopped coriander leaveson the top
Sprinkle some chat masala and garnish with coriander leaves and Serve
