CHICKEN MASTANI”…Why this name? Because this dish is a combination of 2 recipes 😛 so it’s a new recipe with no name 😀 so thought of giving some unique name 😀 This dish is a combination of “Chilli chicken and Chicken masala”.

A really spicy dish. So use spices according to your desired level. 😉
This mouthwatering dish of chicken goes well with side dish to any rice dish / roti (naan/ butter naan/ tandoori roti/ rumali roti)
Serves 2
Ingredients:
For marination

  • 250gms Chicken
  • 1 Tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 Tbsp red chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp corn flour
  • 2 Tbsp wheat flour
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for deep frying

For masala

  • 2 bay leaves
  • 7-8 Dry red chilies
  • 1 Tbsp cumin seeds
  • 5-6 Black peppercorns
  • 2-3 Cloves
  • 1 Large onion- finely chopped
  • 2 Medium tomatoes- finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 Tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt as required

Recipe:
Step 1- Marinate chicken with black pepper powder, red chili powder, corn flour, wheat flour and salt. Leave for 30mins
Step 2- Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry these chicken pieces on high flame until brown and cooked. They will be lightly crisped. Remove in a bowl and keep aside
Step 3- Now prepare masala. Roast dry red chilies, peppercorns, cloves, bay leaves on low flame for 8-10mins and turn off the flame. Let it cool completely
Then grind them to make a smooth paste by adding little water
Step 4- Heat oil in a cooker/ kadhai and add chhoped onions and fry them on high flame until golden brown. Then add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 30secs
Step 5- Add chopped tomatoes and fry on medium flame until it starts leaving oil and then add the masala paste and chicken together and cook on high flame
Turn off the flame when chicken is cooked properly
Step 6- Roast cumin seeds on a pan and add to chicken and cover the lid of cooker/ kadhai

Serve hot with jeera rice/ pulao/Schezwan fried rice, Lemon rice or chapati and enjoy chicken mastani 🙂
