Bhel is a very common street side snacks sold on every corner of Mumbai and also popular at beach side. A light snack to munch while you spend some peace time at beach. Or a quick snack to make at home for your unexpected guest at tea-time 😀

Nowadays you get various kind of bhel in every part of India. Mainly they are made with puffed. You can make your own kind of bhel at home.I made Bhel using Chivda and Peanuts.

Roasted chivda and peanuts mixed with other ingredients makes a delightful snack to make your family chai time more enjoyable.
Serves 3-4
Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Chivda/ Poha/ rice flakes
  • 1/2 Cup peanuts
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil/ any cooking oil
  • 1 Small onion finely chopped
  • 1 Small tomato finely chopped
  • 2 Green chilies finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 Tbsp namkeen sev
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 Tsp chaat masala
  • Salt as required

Recipe:
Step 1- Heat oil in a kadhai/ Pan and add chivda/ poha/ rice flakes and fry on high flame until crisp. Turn off the flame and add salt as required. Keep aside and let it cool
Step 2- In the same kadhai/ pan roast peanuts and let it cool completely
Step 3-  In a mixing bowl add roasted chivda, roasted peanuts, chopped onion, chopped tomato, chopped green chilies, coriander leaves, namkeen sev, chaat masala, salt and lemon juice. Toss well

Serve immediately otherwise it will get soggy. Serve with Tea and enjoy 🙂
