Although Fridays are meant to be “Biryani Day” for me but if you are a chicken lover you can crave for chicken any day of the week and any time of the day 😛  what to do 😛
I keep on experimenting new chicken dishes by combining 2-3 different chicken recipes 😛  or any other recipe. Trust me if you love cooking then don’t hesitate to alter any recipe according to you. Every time I experiment something delicious comes up 🙂

I was going through a “Aloo Biryani” post and thats when I decided to make chicken in Aloo Biryani masala. It came out SUPERHIT 😛
This dish is a combo of 80% Aloo Biryani masala+ 10% Pepper Chicken + 10% Kerala chicken curry= Chicken Masaledar.

A very delicious and mouthwatering chicken side dish to enjoy with chapatis/ rice.
Serves 2
Ingredients:

  • 250 gm Chicken
  • 2 Large onions finely chopped
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 Whole dry red chilies
  • 2 Green cardamoms
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 1 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 Tbsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 Tsp garam masala
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for cooking

For Masala

  • 2 Large tomatoes chopped
  • 1 Tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 Tbsp fennel seeds
  • 5-6 Black peppercorns
  • 6-7 Garlic cloves
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 1 Tbsp chopped mint leaves
  • 2 Green chilies

Recipe:
Step 1- Wash the chicken thoroughly and keep aside
Step 2- Add all the masala ingredients mentioned above in a grinder jar and 2 tbsp water and grind to a smooth paste and keep aside
Step 3- Heat oil in a kadhai and add bay leaf, whole red chili and cinnamon stick and sauté for a minute. Then add green cardamoms, cloves and sauté for another minute
Step 4- Add the chopped onions and fry on high flame until golden brown and then add the masala paste and fry until it starts leaving oil from sides
Step 5- Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, salt as required and mix well. Add the chicken pieces and cook chicken without covering the lid of the kadhai. If required add little water
Step 6- Check whether chicken is cooked properly or not. Once cooked cover the lid and turn off the flame.Now leave for 10-15mins and then serve
