Bhindi Pulao

Spread the love

Well although Bhindi is one of my favorite veggie but preparing the same Bhindi Fry/ Bhindi Masala/ Besan Bhindi every time, is kind of boring now. So while going through recipes of Bhindi I found this one. Gave a little twist and this yummy dish came out 🙂
A little variation in simple food makes it delicious and interesting 😀 This is also a interesting lunch box recipe which can be prepared within an hour. When you are bored of making the same Bhindi Fry/ Bhindi Masala then try this recipe and give a twist to your normal rice and bhindi masala meal.
This recipe is also a “ESCAPE MEAL” for me from making “Roti” 😛
Prepare Bhindi Masala the same way you always prepare, just add more of onions and tomatoes this time.Prepare Bhindi Masala in a pressure cooker. Add the rice in Bhindi Masala and squeeze half lemon and cover the lid of the cooker and let the pressure goes off completely and then serve.
Serves 2-3

  • 1 Tsp blackpepper powder
  • 1 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 Tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Garam masala
  • Oil
  • Salt as required

Step 1- Add rice and 2 cups of water and cook the rice. Let the rice cools completely before using
Step 2- Heat oil in a pressure cooker and let cumin seeds splutter. Then add bay leaves and cloves. Saute for 20secs
Step 3- Add chopped onions and fry on high flame till half golden brown then add chopped tomatoe and cook until it gets mushy. Then add chopped bhindi and fry on high flame until cooked
