A VERY popular North Indian starter or snacks which can be made at home very easily either in the oven or on the stove.
Making Paneer Tikka is actually a very easy recipe. You just need to marinade paneer cubes with some spices and curd and leave it for 4-5hours or overnight, and then grill on tandoor/ oven or on the stove. Either way tastes Good. š You can also use the readymade Paneer Tikka masala.
Obviously, the authentic and traditional way to cook Paneer Tikka is on Tandoor but not everyone has Tandoor at home. Here I am sharing the Oven Paneer Tikka recipe with Step By Step pictures
Ingredients:
- 250gms PaneerĀ (Chopped in cubes)
- 1 Large Red Capsicum (Chopped in cubes)
- 1 Large Green CapsicumĀ (Chopped in cubes)
- 1 Large OnionĀ (Chopped in cubes)
For Marination
- ¼ Cup yogurt (if using thick yogurt, use 1/2 cup)
- 1 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 Tsp red chili powder
- 1 Tsp coriander powder
- ½ Tsp Garam masala
- 1 Tsp chaat masala
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2 Tbsp oil for brushing
- Salt as required
If you are using readymade Paneer Tikka masala/ Tandoori Masala then marinade the paneer and veggies cubes in 1/2 Cup of thick yogurt, 2 Tbsp Tandoori/ Tikka masala, salt and 1 Tbsp of lemon juice
Recipe:
Step 1-Ā Take yogurt in a cotton towel or kitchen towel and drain the water completely
Step 2-Ā Whisk the curd in a large bowl and add all the spices, lemon juice, and salt as required

Step 3-Ā Add paneer cubes, capsicum and onions into the marination masala
Step 4-Ā Marinade and leave overnight or 4-5hours before using

Once it’s marinated it will look like this

Step 5-Ā Pre-heat oven at 350ĀŗF for 5mins and meanwhile arrange the paneer and veggies on the skewer or toothpick and brush some oil

Bake for 12-15mins and turn the skewer and again bake for 12-15mins. Now the Paneer Tikka is ready to serve.
If you are cooking on the stove-Ā Heat oil on a Pan/Tawa and grill the marinated paneer and veggies on medium flame. When one side is lightly brown gently turn and let it cook from another side as well. Flip more if required and make sure it’s cooked properly. Remove them on a serving plate.
Serve the Paneer Tikka with Mint-Coriander chutney and enjoy š
