Paneer Roll/ Paneer Wrap

Posted by

Paneer Wrap is nothing fancy but kind of paneer tikka (no marination required) wrapped in a chapati 😀 Easy to make and pleasing to the palate. Much healthier than a roadside paneer wrap which is made of maida/ all purpose flour as it is made of wheat flour. Add as much as veggies as you want to make it more healthy.
Serves 3-4
For Chapati Wrap
Prepare chapati dough in advance and roll into 3-4 thin chapati and keep aside
For Stuffing

  • 1 Cup paneer cubes
  • 1/2 Cup chopped capsicum (I used green and red half-half)
  • 1/2 Cup onion cubes
  • 1 Small chopped tomato
  • 2 Tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 Tsp chopped ginger
  • 2 Tbsp thick curd
  • 1/2 Tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 Tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Kasuri methi
  • 1/2 Small onion thinly sliced
  • 2-3 Tbsp chopped cabbage
  • 4-5 Tbsp tomato ketchup
  • Salt as required

For Stuffing
Step 1- Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds then add chopped ginger and sauté over medium flame. Add chopped tomato and fry until mushy then add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and kasuri methi. Mix well and fry for 2mins on high flame

Step 2- Add capsicum cubes, onion cubes, and paneer cubes. Fry for 1min on high flame then add thick curd and chopped coriander and mix well. Add salt as required and fry for 1min and then turn off the flame. Let the stuffing cools down

Step 3- Meanwhile we will prepare Chapatis. As we have already rolled the chapatis now we only have to cook it.
Heat a tawa/ pan and cook chapati on high flame. Cook all the chapatis like this

Step 4- Place half of chapati on aluminum foil like shown in the below pic. Add sliced onions, chopped cabbage and add 1tbsp of ketchup. Put the filling in the center and spread in lengthwise
You can add 1tbsp of mint-coriander chutney if you want

Step 5- Wrap the roll halfway with the foil as shown in the below picture and your paneer wrap is ready to eat
Roll tightly so that filling doesn’t come out

    1. Wrap dough- 1 Cup of wheat flour, 1 tbsp oil(optional), 1/2 tsp salt. Knead to a soft dough with luke warm water and cover it with a wet kitchen towel and leave for 10-15mins before use
