Learn Step By Step Recipe With Pictures for Til Chikki/ Sesame Brittle
Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup til/ sesame seeds
  • 1 Cup gud/ jaggery
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 1/2 Tsp oil/ ghee

Recipe:
Step 1- Roast sesame seeds on low flame until they start fluttering and are lightly brown. Turn off the flame and remove in a plate

Step 2- Now add jaggery in a pan and start heating on low flame. Add 1/2 of water. By doing this you would get time to roll chikki or else it would get hard soon. Once the jaggery is melted add 1/2 tsp of oil. DO not add more oil/ghee

Tip: To check the consistency of jaggery drop some melted jaggery in a glass of water and if you are able to roll it, it’s perfectly done. Else cook more

Step 3- Add the roasted sesame seeds to the melted jaggery and mix well

Step 4- Prepare a rolling board/ plate by applying some oil/ghee and spread the mixture on rolling board/ plate and roll slightly to give a good shape

After rolling make the cuts immediately so that you get the proper shape or else it will become hard. Til chikki is ready. Store in an airtight container.
