Inspite of numerous benefits many people don’t like to eat soyachunks/ nutrela 😛 including me until I discovered this recipe 😀 So finally after a loooonng break I bought this SoyaChunks packet and decided to make something yummy and found this recipe 😀 Thank God!
You can add fresh green peas to add more flavors. This SoyaChunk Peas Biryani can be made in pressure cooker or in a pot. It’s a one pot meal that can be served with simple raita and some salad.

Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup basmati rice (soaked for 30mins)
- 12-13 soyachunks
- 1/2 Cup green peas
- 1 Medium chopped onion
- 1 Tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1/2 Cup chopped coriander leaves
- 1/4 Cup chopped mint leaves
- 2-3 Sliced green chili
- 1/2 Cup thick curd
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
- 1 Tsp cumin seeds
- 1 Tsp fennel seeds
- 7-8 Black pepper corns
- 1 Tbsp red chili powder
- 1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 Tsp garam masala
- Salt as required
- Oil
Recipe:
Step 1- In a bowl take luke warm water and soak soyachunks for 25-30mins. Drain the excess water and chop them if required
Step 2- Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, fennel seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, black pepper corns and sauté for 20secs
Step 3- Add chopped onions and fry them till translucent. Then add ginger-garlic paste and sauté till raw smell of ginger-garlic goes off
Step 4- Add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilies and mix well. Then add red chili powder, garam masala and salt. Fry for 2-3mins on low to medium flame
Step 5- Now add thick curd and mix with the masala. Add soyachunks, green peas and blend well with the masala
Step 6- Now add soaked rice and give them a mix
Add 1.5-2 Cup of water as required, mix well and cover the lid of the pan and cook on medium flame for about 8-10mins as required. If you are using a pressure cook then cook for 1 whistle and let the pressure goes off completely and then open the lid.
Serve hot- hot biryani with raita
