Sundays are meant to be Non-Veg eating day😬 and when you are “home alone” is the best time to try something new SO THAT even if it’s not as tasty the way you wanted you can eat and nobody will ever know😜 So, as usual, I was going through ALMOST ALL the chicken dishes on internet which I can try and enjoy as a starter too other than eating it with rice or chapati. And FINALLY, after an hour’s search, I found this recipe😄
img_7226This Chicken Dry Roast is actually a Kerala recipe which is cooked with curry leaves but as I was not having any curry leaves available at home so I skipped that part and now this is “Chicken Dry Roast” only😄 A flavourful, spicy and yummylicious chicken roast which you can serve as a starter or as a side dish to your rice or chapati.

For marination

  • 500gms chicken
  • 1 Inch crushed ginger
  • 6-7 crushed garlic cloves
  • 2-3 crushed green chilies
  • 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 Tsp red chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt as required

For roasting

  • 1-2 Green chilies, slit
  • 2 Large onion finely chopped
  • 2 Medium tomato finely chopped
  • 1 Tsp red chili powder
  • 1 Tsp Garam masala
  • 1 Tsp crushed black pepper
  • Salt as required
  • Mustard oil for cooking

Recipe:
Step 1- Marinade chicken with all the ingredients mentioned above in marination list and leave for 1hr
Step 2- Now heat 4-5 tbsp oil in a pan and add onion slices and fry on high flame
Step 3- When the onions are cooked properly remove in a plate
Step 4- In the same oil add chicken pieces and cook on medium flame until done and then remove on a plate
Step 5- In the same pan add 2tbsp oil if required and add green chilies and chopped tomatoes and saute
Fry on high flame until the tomatoes are mushy and then add chicken pieces
Step 6- Mix well so the chicken pieces are well coated with the tomato paste and then add garam masala, red chili powder, and black pepper
Mix well everything and add salt as required and cook until the masala gets dry and well coated with chicken pieces
Step 7- Now add the fried onions and 1tbsp lemon juice and mix well
Fry for 4-5mins and turn off the flame.

Yummy Chicken dry roast is ready to serve😋
