Any instant recipe or ready to eat recipe comes in very handy for breakfast when you are in a hurry or when you are not at all a morning person. ๐Ÿ˜€ You can prepare this ready to eat upma mix with very less cost and time.
This homemade upma mix is very good for working bachelors who obviously doesn’t want to cook daily. ๐Ÿ˜€ You can make this mix on weekend or whenever you get time and store for your breakfast/dinner. After the long day at office coming home tired, ย everything tastes good. ๐Ÿ˜€ So do prepare this mix and enjoy the morning with a cup of tea/ coffee without being worried about what to eat for breakfast. ย ๐Ÿ˜€
Serves 2

  • 1 Cup roasted rava/ sooji
  • 10-12 nos. cashew nuts
  • 1 Tbsp chana dal
  • 1 Tsp urad dal
  • 1 Tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 Tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 Tsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 Green chilies, finely chopped
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • Salt as required
  • 2 Tbsp oil

Step 1-ย Heat oil in a pan and let the chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and cashew nuts splutter and saute them until the nuts and dal turn golden

Step 2-ย Add curry leaves, chopped ginger, and green chilies and saute for a while then add in the roasted rava. Mix everything well and turn off the flame. Mix in the required salt and let the mixture cool down completely


Store this upma mix in an air tight container for later use. While serving take umpa mix in a bowl and add warm water until the level of mix and cover for 2-3mins and it’s ready to eat. Enjoy the hassle free breakfast. ๐Ÿ˜€ You can store this mixture for a month. So make in usable batches and store for later use.
