Pizza is relished by almost everyone and nowadays pizza is available in various types. Imagine a freshly baked pizza with the perfect crust, melting mozzarella cheese and tangy achari topping. Yeah, you heard me right! Achari Topping. This pizza is prepared with homemade achari masala and it tastes tangy, a bit spicy, and absolutely delicious. Indulge yourself in healthy, guilt-free, and desi Indian flavor pizza.

All you need is 8-10mins and few spices…and your achari masala is ready.
Serves 2 Medium Thin Crust Pizza
For Pizza Dough

  • ¾ Cup whole wheat flour +¼ cup all-purpose flour (or ½ cup all-purpose flour + ½ cup whole-wheat flour)
  • 1 Tsp pizza crust yeast
  • ½ Cup warm water (or as required)
  • 1 ½ Tsp oil
  • 1 Tsp sugar
  • ¼ Tsp salt

For Marination

  •  1 Cup Paneer, cut into bite-size or as desired
  • 1 Cup capsicum, cube or Julians (green, red yellow)
  • 3 Tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ Tbsp achari masala
  • 1 Tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 Tsp dried Kasuri methi
  • 1 Tsp coriander powder
  • 1 Tsp red chili powder
  • ½ Tsp amchur powder
  • ¼ Tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt as required
  • 1 Tsp mustard oil

For Achari Masala

  • 3-4 Whole dry red chilies
  • 1 Tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1 Tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1 Tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1 Tsp black caraway seeds

Pizza Topping Ingredients

  • Pizza sauce
  • Grated Mozzarella cheese
  • Chili flakes
  • Pizza seasoning
  • Few onion slices

Step 1- Heat a griddle and dry roast all the spices mentioned under achari masala. When spices turn aromatic turn off the flame and grind them to a smooth powder

Step 2- In a mixing bowl take all the spices mentioned under marination ingredients, mustard oil, required salt and mix with greek yogurt. Add the cubed paneer and veggies. Mix everything

Step 3- Add achari masala and gently mix everything. Marinate and leave overnight or  4-6hours for the better result or at least leave for a 2hours minimum

Step 4- In a large mixing bowl take warm water, pizza crust yeast, sugar, salt, and oil.Dissolve and let it sit for 2mins. Add the flours to the bowl and using a spatula or spoon mix everything. Knead the dough for 4-5mins and cover the bowl. Leave the dough for 30-40mins. The dough will rise
You can add half of the all-purpose flour and half of the whole wheat flour or use only whole wheat flour or only all-purpose flour to bake this pizza


Step 5- Pre-heat oven at 475ºF. Dust a rolling board and divide the dough into 2 equal parts. Take one portion and roll into a thin crust. Grease and dust with flour a pizza baking tray and place the pizza base

Step 6- Spread pizza sauce all over the base using a spoon. Spread grated cheese and top with the marinated achari paneer and some onion slices


Step 7- Sprinkle chilli flakes and pizza seasoning as desired and place the tray in the heated oven. Bake the pizza for 12-15mins or until the crust is brown and crispy. Remove and serve
