Pomfret is one of the most popular fish found in most of the coastal areas of the country and is enjoyed in many ways. A few weeks ago I tried Koli Style Stuffed Pomfret and trust me, it was delicious and full of flavors in every bite. Here, Pomfret is easily available at the nearby store and we love Pomfret fry. Since my husband wanted to eat fish cooked in banana leaf and luckily I found fresh banana leaves, so here it is…Steamed Pomfret In Banana Leaf! ❤
I love Indian style fish curry at any time and that’s something I miss here the most. Back home, on Sunday mom would cook fish curry with steamed rice and we enjoyed eating every bite of it. ❤ Till now, I never found fresh Rohu or Katla fish here but thanks to the easy availability of Pomfret I tried few of my mom’s fish recipes with it. Cook Pomfret with any masala and in any style and it will surely taste good, that’s the beauty of Pomfret. 😀
Do try this recipe preferably with Pomfret and I am sure you will love this simple and flavorful seamed Pomfret.

This recipe is a healthy Indian masala steamed fish recipe which can be enjoyed with steamed rice and dal fry. Make sure the pomfrets are well marinated so that they absorb the flavors well. You can absolutely skip the last step of Pan frying the pomfret if you want.
Serve it with your favorite Indian flatbread or steamed rice and dal as a complete meal for lunch. I know you eat this without any accompaniment but trust me, it tastes too good with yellow dal fry and steamed rice. 🙂
