Salads are our favorite accompaniment to serve with Indian meals. Though sometimes we get bored of serving the same thing again and again but a little change can make your meals more interesting. Today I am sharing a protein rich salad which you can serve with any Indian meal. Or, just enjoy it as a wholesome meal. Choice is all yours. 😄
Let’s just suppose you have soaked Rajma for preparing Rajma masala and later you changed your mind (that’s hard to imagine, though) then you must try this chatpata Rajma Salad. Even if you don’t plan to, I would suggest you to try this once. Nothing new, nothing fancy. A handful of very basic ingredients when tossed together makes this tongue-tickling Rajma Salad which is undoubtedly delicious.
You don’t need to do a lot of work for preparing this delicious Salad. Just throw everything together in a bowl, toss with condiments and a few spices and the refreshing vibrant looking salad is ready to serve.
- ½ Cup rajma (soaked for 6-8hrs or overnight)
- ¼ Cup onion, finely chopped
- ¼ Cup tomato, finely chopped
- ¼ Cup cucumber, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
- 2 Green chilies, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
- ½ Tsp chat masala
- ¼ Tsp red chili powder (optional)
- Salt as required

Step 1- Thoroughly wash the soaked rajma 2-3times and drain the water. In a pressure cooker, take soaked rajma along with 1-2 cups of water and required salt. Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or until soft. Allow the pressure to release naturally and then drain the water
Step 2- Take a large mixing bowl and toss the rajma with the above mentioned ingredients. Serve fresh and enjoy
