Lets learn step by step recipe with pictures for Veg Steamed Momo

Recipe:

For Momo Sheet

Step 1- In a mixing bowl, take all purpose flour, oil, and required salt. Knead them to a soft dough. Grease with oil and cover with a wet muslin cloth for 15-20mins.

For Stuffing

Step 1- Heat oil in a frying pan, saute ginger-garlic and green chilies for a minute.

Step 2- Add chopped onion and spring onions, saute until slightly soft. Add all the grated and chopped veggies together in the pan

Step 3- On a high flame, fry for 2-3mins and then turn off the flame. Add all the sauces, black pepper powder, required salt, and vinegar. Mix well and keep aside while you roll the momo sheets

Shaping the momo
Step 1- Make small equal size balls from the dough. Roll each dough ball like a thin poori and place 1 Tbsp filling (or as desired) in the center

Step 2- Lift one side of the edge and start pleating and join in the center. Follow same steps for the rest of the dough balls

Step 3- For steaming the momos you can use steamer/ pressure cooker/ or kadhai with a lid. I have used both, Idli maker and Instant Pot for the momo.

For Instant Pot, fill the pot with 2cups of water and place the rack. Put the steamer plate on the rack and close the lid and press steam mode. (7mins).  Release the pressure and serve hot momo with chutney

For Idli maker, fill the pot with enough water and place the racks when the water comes to a boil. Cover the pot with the lid and steam on medium high flame for 15-18mins or as required.

Turn off the flame and serve hot momo with momo chutney.
