Hello people! How’s everyone doing? Hope everyone is safe and happy. This side everything is fine (except my over-thinker brain, LOL).

My little one is keeping me busy, literally. Motherhood is tiring, no? 😄 Let’s just not let me get started with my lockdown stories, AGAIN.

Since my pregnancy, I don’t even remember when was the last time I have had a burger. 🤔

Not that I am a huge fan of Burger’s, but it’s been really long.

I even thought of ordering one from the restaurant here but then, why to order when you can make one, that too, much delicious than what you will get from there.

So? Yay! I finally made it. 🙌🏻

Here is my delicious and homemade, Veg Patties for the Burger I am gonna make.

I have kept the patties simple but these patties are excellent to load your favourite veggies. So go for it. Stuff all the veggies that you want your family to eat.

Important Tip– DO NOT add too much of bread crumbs while binding the mixture, as it will make the patties dry from inside and bland too.

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 2 Medium sized potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 Carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 1 Cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 Cup green peas
  • 1 Tsp cumin powder
  • 1 Tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 Tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 Tsp garam masala
  • 1 Tsp chat masala
  • 2 Tbsp bread crumbs
  • Salt as required
  • Oil for shallow frying

Other Ingredients

  • Corn slurry (2 tbsp corn flour + 1/4 cup all-purpose flour)
  • Bread crumbs

Let’s learn step by step recipe with pictures for Veg Patties | Veg Patties For Burger

Recipe:

Step 1- Wash the veggies well and drain the water.

In a steamer pot, steam the veggies until cooked. Let them cool

Step 2- Using a potato masher, mash all the veggies until smooth. Add cumin powder, black pepper powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chat masala, and required salt. Mix well

Step 3- Add bread crumbs and bind together. Divide the mixture into 6 equal parts and shape the patties

Step 4- In a bowl, make slurry using all-purpose flour and corn flour. Mix in a fat pinch of salt too

Step 5- Heat oil in a frying pan, dip the patties in the slurry and then coat with bread crumbs from both the sides. Follow the same for 2-3 patties and keep them aside

Step 6- When the oil is hot enough, place the coated patties in the hot oil. Keep the flame to medium and cook until the outer of the patties becomes crisp and patties turn golden brown

Keep the fried patties on a kitchen towel or paper napkin to remove excess oil.

Serve them with your favourite dips or make your favorite cheese-mayonnaise loaded burger out of it. Your choice, totally. 😄
