Mango Custard | How To Make Mango Custard

Before the lovely mango season ends grab all the ingredients and make this yummy Mango Custard. This recipe is for all the mango lovers out there. It’s simple, easy to make and could be the most satisfying dessert to your family. It’s a light and very creamy AAM-mazing sweet dish. 🙂 I bought custard packet to make fruit custard but then it’s Krishna’s birthday today and also Independence Day. So I had two reasons to make something special. 🙂

Serves 2


  • 1 1/2 Cup milk
  • 1/2 Cup mango pulp
  • 2-3 Tbsp sugar or as required
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp custard powder
  • 1 Tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 Tbsp tutti frutti
  • Fresh fruits (optional), for topping

Step 1- In a bowl take custard powder and 2tbsp milk and mix well to a runny thick paste and keep aside

Step 2- Boil milk in a pan until it comes up. Lower the flame and add sugar, stir well

Step 3- Add the custard paste to the simmering milk and keep stirring so that no lumps formed. Keep stirring on low flame until it’s thick then add mango pulp and vanilla essence and mix well

Step 4- Mix everything well and cook only for 1-2mins. Do not cook after adding the mango pulp. Turn off the flame. Remove the custard in a bowl and refrigerate for at least 1-2hrs before serving

When serving top with tutti frutti and some chopped fresh fruits. Serve chilled and enjoy. 🙂



Mango Yogurt Popsicle

THIS is the simplest recipe for a healthy popsicle to beat the heat. You just need three ingredients..Yeah Yeah! you heard me right. 😉 Only three ingredients and Tan Ta Da…It’s ready. 😀 One fine day…actually one fine HOT day this idea came to my mind that why not try making something healthy and something chilling (not some smoothies or juice or shakes) to beat the heat at least for few hours 😛  I just Looovvveee Mangoes…it’s AAM-mazing 😀 So my Froyo lover mind suggested me to make Mango flavored Frozen Yogurt. Aaaand…What? I made it 😉 You can’t say NO to ANYTHING related to food. 😀

  • 1 Cup chopped fresh mango/ mango pulp/ frozen mango
  • 1 Cup plain greek yogurt
  • 2-3 Tbsp sugar/ sweetener of your choice (only if required)

Step 1- Take chopped mango, greek yogurt and sugar in a food processor and process until smooth. Or take all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and fluffy

Step 2- Pour the mixture evenly in the popsicle mold and freeze for 6-7hrs or as required.


Keep popsicle mold in a bowl full of warm water to remove easily or keep under running water. And enjoy on a HOT day.

Mango Mastani

We. The MANGO people, Love MANGOes 😛 😀 I just CAN’T SAY NO to mango even if my tummy is fully packed, and I’m in no mood to eat anything. Aam Ka Mausam and I don’t make Mangoshakes? Ahhh…Na Na Na…Not possible! 😀 Just saw a picture on internet and can’t take my eyes off from that picture of Mango Mastani. It was THAT beautiful and appealing to eyes. So now what? Arey just make it now and enjoy maddy 😀


“Mango Mastani” sounds interesting..isn’t it? I don’t know how this drink got this name. Have heard stories like it’s named after Peshwa Bajirao’s wife Mastani. She was very beautiful and so is this drink. 🙂 Though this drink is very famous in Pune but now you would find this drink in ANYWHERE in India.


Mango Mastani is nothing but a thick mangoshake served with dollops of ice-cream, nuts, mango pieces and cherry/ tutti fruti. This drink looks so beautiful that you just can;t say NO. 😛 Please have it empty stomach because this is soooo rich and tummy filling. 😀


Serves 2


  • 2 Large mangoes (of your choice)
  • 1/2 Cup chilled milk
  • 2-3 Tbsp sugar (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp chopped mango pieces, for topping
  • 2-3 Tbsp dry fruits (cashews, almonds, pistachios)
  • 1 Tbsp black raisins
  • 2 Tbsp tutti frutti
  • 5-6 Scoops of vanilla ice-cream

Step 1- Chop/ slice the nuts and with some mango pieces keep aside for topping. Then peel and chop the mangoes into medium pieces and add them to the blender with milk and 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream


Step 2- Add sugar if you want the drink to be more sweet and blend to a smooth shake

Step 3- Pour the shake into serving glasses and top with some mango pieces, scoop of ice-cream and dry fruits and tutti frutti

Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy the rich, heavy and delicious Mango Mastani.


Easy Nuts Brownie 

Easy dessert for the times when you are just too lazy to go out or prepare something fancy. Prepare this in advance and enjoy for a week or until you finish them😜


  • 1 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2-1 Cup powdered sugar or as per your sweetness level
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 Tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 Tsp baking soda
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt (Skip salt if using salted butter)
  • 1/2 Cup cooking oil/ melted butter
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 2 Eggs


Step 1- In a large bowl add cocoa powder,salt(skip salt if using salted butter), baking soda and baking powder to all purpose flour and mix using a fork

Step 2- In another bowl add cooking oil/ melted butter, egg, powdered sugar, water, vanilla extract and whisk well and add this mixture to all purpose flour mixture

Step 3- Beat the batter until mixed well. Make sure there are no lumps formed. Batter should be little thick. Grease a baking pan and pour the batter in it

And put some cashew nuts on the edges of the batter. Decorate as you like. You can even put nuts before pouring the batter into the pan

Step 4- Preheat oven at 325ºF and bake for 30-35mins or more if required. To check the brownie insert a toothpick if it come out clean the brownie is ready. Turn off the oven and remove the pan. Let it cool and then remove in a plate and cut into brownie size pieces

Serves- 12-14 cookies


  • 1 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1 Tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 Tsp salt (skip salt if using salted butter)
  • 1/2 Cup butter (at room temperature)
  • 1/4 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 Cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • 1 Tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 Cup choco-chips


Step 1- Take all purpose flour in a bowl and add baking soda, sieve it and keep aside

Step 2- In another bowl add sugar and butter and beat it until it becomes creamy and then add brown sugar and beat again

Step 3- Add milk and vanilla essence, whisk till it gets incorporated

Step 4- Add all the dry ingredients and beat until it gets incorporated. Dust choco-chips with 1tbsp all purpose flour and then add to the mixture and fold them in

Step 5- Assemble using your hand. Do not knead like dough. You can also chill the dough for 15-20mins in refrigerator

On a parchment paper take a ball of dough put another parchment paper on top and roll into thick roti

Step 6- Using a cookie cutter (shape as you like) cut them

Step 7- Preheat oven at 350ºF at least for 10mins and bake cookies for 10-12 minutes. Remove them from oven and let them cool completely




Gajar Ka Halwa | Carrot Halwa


In Indian household winters are incomplete without making Gajar Ka halwa multiple times or at least 2-3 times 😀 The most comforting sign of long awaited winter is Gajar Ka Halwa. Though nothing beats “Maa ke hath ka bana Gajar Ka Halwa” but after moving to USA this privilege is no longer available. The only times I used to eat Gajar Ka Hawla..1- either cooked by my mommy or 2- cooked by my maasi 🙂 They both cook delicious Gajar Ka Halwa. So for the VERY FIRST TIME I tried making this Gajar Ka Halwa which I was very much sure I cannot make gajar ka halwa anyway because of the time and patience it requires..Well that’s difficult for me 😛


Still I tried making this for my beloved Hubby and I was VERY HAPPY when he said it’s delicious. Yeahhh…Mission Successful! 😀

Serves 4


  • 1 Litre full fat milk
  • 1/2 Kg grated gajar/ carrot
  • 1/2 Cup sugar or as required
  • 2 Tbsp roasted dry fruits
  • 2 Tbsp ghee


Step 1- In a heavy bottom pan bring milk to boil and let it boil until its thicken. The most important part “You just cannot make delicious Gajar Ka Halwa without adding lots of milk” 😛 Yeah..true. So let the milk simmer on low medium flame

Add grated carrot and stir gently and cook on low medium flame. Keep stirring to prevent burning at the bottom

Step 2- Add roasted dry fruits n nuts and mix well. Let the nuts get cooked properly. It gives a nice flavor to your halwa. You can nuts of your choice

keep stirring and cooking on low medium flame. The more you cook on low flame the best taste you will get 😀 Trust Me!

Step 3- When the milk evaporates add sugar. Sugar melts and halwa turns gooey once again. Stir and cook

When the moisture is half evaporated, add ghee and stir well.

Keep cooking until the halwa thickens. Then turn off the flame

Serve warm or cold as you like and enjoy this rich Gajar Ka Halwa 🙂


Cinnamon Crumb Coffee Cake


When someone says you don’t eat cake in the morning. Then tell them this is COFFEE cake and you eat it in the morning with Coffee. It’s breakfast! 😀 There is absolutely nothing better than waking up in the winter morning and enjoying a slice of Cake with a hot and creamy cup of coffee.


Crumb on the top…..because crumb part is the best! Hint of coffee and cinnamon powder makes this cake more delicious.

For Crumb Topping

  • 4 Tbsp butter  (slightly softened)
  • 1/2 Cup sugar
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Tsp coffee
  • 1/2 Tsp nutmeg powder

For Cake

  • 1 1/2 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 Cup wheat flour
  • 2 Tsp baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp choco chips (optional)
  • 5 Tbsp butter  (softened)
  • 3/4 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2  Cup milk  (room temperature)
  • 1 Tsp vanilla essence


Step 1- In a large bowl take all purpose flour, wheat flour, baking powder and choco chips. Sieve well

Step 2- In another bowl cream together the sugar and butter and then add egg, milk and vanilla essence and beat them well again

Step 3- Start adding the liquid mixture to flour in part. Make sure there are no lumps formed and mix gently to combine. The batter will be thicker. Do not add water

Grease a baking pan and pour the batter. Spread evenly

Step 4- For crumb topping, In a bowl take sugar, coffee powder, cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder and mix well. Add butter and mix with a fork until the ingredients are well combined

Step 5- Spread the crumb topping on the cake batter and press lightly using a spatula.

Preheat oven at 350ºF for 10mins and then bake the cake for 25-30mins. To check insert a toothpick and if it comes out clean remove the pan from over. If not, bake for few mins more

Let the cake cools down a little and then remove on a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy this Crumb cake with your morning/ evening coffee.
