Mango Mastani

We. The MANGO people, Love MANGOes 😛 😀 I just CAN’T SAY NO to mango even if my tummy is fully packed, and I’m in no mood to eat anything. Aam Ka Mausam and I don’t make Mangoshakes? Ahhh…Na Na Na…Not possible! 😀 Just saw a picture on internet and can’t take my eyes off from that picture of Mango Mastani. It was THAT beautiful and appealing to eyes. So now what? Arey just make it now and enjoy maddy 😀

“Mango Mastani” sounds interesting..isn’t it? I don’t know how this drink got this name. Have heard stories like it’s named after Peshwa Bajirao’s wife Mastani. She was very beautiful and so is this drink. 🙂 Though this drink is very famous in Pune but now you would find this drink in ANYWHERE in India.

Mango Mastani is nothing but a thick mangoshake served with dollops of ice-cream, nuts, mango pieces and cherry/ tutti fruti. This drink looks so beautiful that you just can;t say NO. 😛 Please have it empty stomach because this is soooo rich and tummy filling. 😀

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 Large mangoes (of your choice)
  • 1/2 Cup chilled milk
  • 2-3 Tbsp sugar (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp chopped mango pieces, for topping
  • 2-3 Tbsp dry fruits (cashews, almonds, pistachios)
  • 1 Tbsp black raisins
  • 2 Tbsp tutti frutti
  • 5-6 Scoops of vanilla ice-cream

Recipe:

Step 1- Chop/ slice the nuts and with some mango pieces keep aside for topping. Then peel and chop the mangoes into medium pieces and add them to the blender with milk and 2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream

Step 2- Add sugar if you want the drink to be more sweet and blend to a smooth shake

Step 3- Pour the shake into serving glasses and top with some mango pieces, scoop of ice-cream and dry fruits and tutti frutti

Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy the rich, heavy and delicious Mango Mastani.

Cold Coffee

“Simple, Easy And Refreshing.”

Make instant Cold Coffee at home and beat the heat with this cold and refreshing drink. I am sure most of us love cold coffee. And cold coffee with a scoop of ice-cream is my favorite. A huge coffee lover I am 😛 Give me coffee any time of the day, then you are best:P

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups of milk
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 4 Tsp coffee powder or as you like
  • 4-5 Tbsp sugar, or as required
  • 2 Scoop of ice-cream
  • 6-7 Ice cubes
  • Cocoa powder (optional)

Recipe:

Step 1- Add 1tsp of water to sugar and coffee powder and whisk until you get a creamy mixture

Step 2- In a blender add water, milk, ice cubes and ice-cream and blend  until it gets frothy. Blend for good 4-5mins

Ice-cream gives the coffee a thickness and a flavor to your cold coffee

Step 2- Pour into a glass add a scoop of ice-cream again and sprinkle some cocoa powder (optional)

Instant Coffee

A Coffee Recipe…??? Many of you must be thinking why a coffee recipe? I mean we all know how to make a cup of coffee. Well…Yeah! A Coffee Recipe 😉 The same recipe which you all already know 🙂

Morning Rule No.1: No Questions Until I have My Coffee In My Hand 😉

Nothing could be better than a hot coffee in the morning and then everything gets better with a hot cup of coffee 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup hot/boiling milk
  • 1.5 Tsp Coffee powder (if you like strong coffee make it 2 tsp)
  • 1 Tsp Sugar
  • 1/4 Tsp cocoa powder

Recipe:

Step 1- Add coffee powder and sugar in a cup and add 1 Tsp milk and beat for atleast 8-10mins rigorously until it changes color to light brown

Your coffee cream is ready now

Step 2- Now pour boiling milk into the cup. Mix with the help of spoon and add some cocoa powder on top

Ingredients:

  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 Kiwi
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • Ice cubes

Recipe:

Step 1- Peel avocado and cut in small pieces. Simplest way to cut avocado shown below:

Step 2- Peel the kiwi and cut into slices. Slice kiwi like shown below in the pictures:

Step 3- Blend the avocado and kiwi on high speed in a blender. You can even blend them separately. Mix some ice-cubes whiles blending

Step 4- Add lemon juice while serving for a better taste

You can store them for 2-3 days. Consume within 2-3days as you have not added any preservatives to preserve for a longer time. I would suggest to consume within a day as nothing beats fresh drinks. 🙂

Apple + Cinnamon Juice

“An Apple A Day Keeps the Doctor Away, BUT If The Doctor Is Handsome Keep The Apple Away” 😛 😉

You must have heard this saying very time “An Apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Apples are one of the healthiest food you can add to your daily diet. They are great detox food and you can add apple in various forms into your diet. Apple also helps to regulate your blood sugar. There are many other benefits of apple.

Cinnamon is very helpful in weight loss and also helps to boost your metabolism.

And When they both meet “Apple+Cinnamon= Healthy You” 🙂

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 Apple thinly sliced
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 Glass water

Recipe:

Step 1- Put apple slices in a deep pan and add water. Boil on low flame for 20mins

Step 2- Crush and add the cinnamon sticks and let it boil for another 15mins

Step 3- Turn off the flame and let it cool

Step 4- Take a mixer jar add the apple cinnamon mixture and blend

Step 5- Strain the blended juice in a Jar using a muslin cloth or strainer and keep in refrigerator for 15-20mins before drinking.

Squeeze half lemon if on dieting 😉

Banana-Strawberry Smoothie

Beat the heat with banana-strawberry smoothie. Easy to make yummylicious smoothie 😉

Ingredients:

  • 1 Banana
  • 4-5 Strawberries
  • 1/2 Cup yogurt
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 5-6 Ice cubes

Recipe:

Step 1- Cut banana and strawberry into small slices.

Step 2- Add strawberry, yogurt, milk and ice cubes in a blender and blend.

Step 3- Add banana slices into the blender and blend until smooth and creamy and serve.

You can serve with Vanilla ice-cream (optional).

Note: Avoid adding sugar.

 

Masala Chai

Tea is something which we Indians can’t resist and can’t say no to tea. Many of us are addicted to it. Our day can’t start without a cup of tea. Even though I am not a very big fan of tea still I can’t say no to tea 😛 To start your day ‘Have a cup of tea’, having a bad day ‘Have a cup of tea and let go off everything’, Have a cup of Tea to start your work, break from work ‘have a cup of tea’…We need Tea EVERY TIME. 😛

A cup of tea with your family or friends and trail of stories 😀 Sounds perfect.

IMG_0276“Garma-Garam Masala Chai”Always a hit among my dad and my dad-in law 😀 This recipe is specially dedicated to both of them and all the lovely people who love Tea.

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoon loose tea powder
  • 2 tablespoon sugar (as per your taste)
  • 2-3 green cardamom
  •  1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 ginger slice

Recipe:

Step 1- Add water in a sauce pan and add green cardamom, cinnamon stick and boil till 2mins on medium flame

Step 2- Add tea leaves and let it boil for 1min then add ginger and again let it boil for 1-2mins. Add milk and boil it on low flame for 3-4mins

Step 3- Add sugar and boil for 1min. Turn off the flame, Strain and serve
