Step 1- Bring milk to boil in a pan. Add nutmeg, cinnamon powder, thandai masala, and sugar to the milk. Let it boil for 12-15mins on low flame
Step 2- Turn off the flame and allow it to cool down completely. Starin the milk in a container and refrigerate for 4-5hrs before serving. You can refrigerate without straining and just before serving strain it and serve
Add few drops of rose water and ice-cubes while serving and enjoy. 🙂

Only 2days are left for Holi and I am still struggling with what sweets and snacks to prepare for the occasion. 😦 Yesterday, I was searching for the Thandai masala in the store but no luck. So I thought of giving it a try at home and sharing with you all this coolest drink recipe. 🙂 And yayyy…I am at least ready with one drink to serve on Holi. 😀 This recipe is so simple and ready in no time. Make Thandai or Thandai kulfi or Thandai Cake or Thandai bread using this masala and enjoy the burst of flavors in your mouth. Store this in an airtight jar and use within 35-40days.
¼ Cup almonds
¼ Cup cashew nuts
¼ Cup pistachio
2 Tbsp poppy seeds
1 Tbsp fennel seeds
1 Tbsp green cardamoms
1 Tsp black peppercorns
Few strands of saffron
1 Tsp of nutmeg powder*
1 Tsp cinnamon powder*
*you can skip adding nutmeg and cinnamon powder while storing and add while boiling the milk. Whichever way you prefer

Step 1- Dry roast everything except poppy seeds and saffron. Once the nuts start releasing the aroma add the poppy seeds. Roast for a minute or two and turn off the flame. Let them cool down completely
Step 2- Take a grinder jar, add all the roasted ingredients to the jar and grind to a fine powder. Sieve and grind the coarse powder again. Transfer to an airtight jar, add saffron strands, nutmeg powder, and cinnamon powder. Mix it nicely and store it

2 tablespoon loose tea powder, or as required

Step 1- In a mortar crush all the spices together. Bring water to boil in a saucepan and add the crushed spices. Let it boil for 2min to infuse flavors

It’s been a great San Fransisco & San Jose trip last weekend. 6-7 Mint leaves

1/2 Inch ginger, cut into Julians
Just add all the ingredients to water and leave overnight so that the flavors combine well. If you wish you can keep the jar in the refrigerator for chilled detox water. Next day filter the water and drink the whole day. Repeat this detox water intake twice a week.
29th June 2016…This Day That Year- I started my blog.:) I can’t believe it’s already been a year since I started blogging. Cooking has always been my passion but cooking daily- then photography-to writing the recipes was something very unexpected from me. 😀 I never thought I would survive or would even complete 2-3months but not only I survived but won some super awesome readers like you all. 🙂 Am so GLAD. 🙂 It’s been a SUPER AWESOME exciting and fun filled year of blogging and I am sure I will keep posting wonderful recipes in coming years too. 🙂 Now I sooo love cooking, taking pictures and then sharing the recipes. Usually we make sweets to celebrate anything but as I can feel the hotness 😉 in CA weather so I had to make something cool and refreshing. 😀 To celebrate this Blog Anniversary I made this super healthy drink which is very simple to make and is also very appealing to eyes. Summer is the favorite season for cool drinks.
Watermelon Drink/ Juice made with fresh fruits will keep you refreshing the whole day. Beat the heat with this mind refreshing drink. 😀
2 Cups roughly chopped watermelon (seedless)
1 Tbsp kosher salt
5-6 Ice cubes
4-5 slices of lemon
Handful of blueberries
8-10 Thin kiwi slices
Cubed watermelons for topping
Take a ice tray and randomly add kiwi, blueberries or any other fruit slices with water and let it freeze. Use these beautiful and flavorful ice instead of plain ice.
In a blender take roughly chopped watermelon pieces, kosher salt and ice. Blend until smooth. Shake well before serving and add some fresh cubed watermelons, blueberries and lemon slices
